A friend shared this New York Times article with me earlier this week, titled "Hit the Reset Button in Your Brain". If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, I would strongly encourage you.
As Mamma's we tend to be Queen of Multi-tasking, this article suggests reducing the multi-tasking and structuring our days more project-based to allow our brains to function optimally. It also recommends giving our brains a much needed restorative break.
While I try to structure my days from a more project-based approach, I find the demands of work, family, and life often have me multi-tasking away. Reflecting on this article, I am going to strive to ground myself more in a project-based approach.
My first step will be to create a plan in advance for my week, chunking out my time, and most importantly, providing chunks of white space* in my day to address those 'fires' that pop up.
*White Space = Unplanned time
