Over the past year my family and I have been placing memories / moments / celebrations into a jar in our kitchen, and what a way to celebrate a year (and remember the big and small moments) as to go through and read each and every slip of paper.
The holiday season has been a busy one for us as well, and I found myself not ready to embrace 2016 when it arrived a few days ago. Before I can truly welcome 2016 and all it has to offer, there are three things I need to do...
1. I need to celebrate 2015
2. I need to let go 2015
3. I need to give myself permission to embrace 2016
Perhaps you are already there, ready to welcome 2016 with open arms, but if not, join me as I grab my journal and consider ...
1. Celebrate 2015 - How do you want to mark 2015 for yourself and your family? How are you going to celebrate all your successes, highlights, moments of joy, and everything in between?
2. Let go of 2015 - At the end of year we tend to highlight both the beautiful successes and also the unfinished business. The resolutions / to-do's / plans that never got executed. In order to launch into 2016, I need to let those go first, what about you? What do you need to let go of? How?
3. Permission - Lastly, I need to give myself permission to embrace 2016 with both arms and an open heart. I often use a permission slip as a tool to write myself formal permission.
Cheers to the end of a beautiful year and the beginning of another!
