Much like in life, I find my home develops cobwebs in the corners, boxes get buried in the basement or attic, memories are hidden away under last years toys, books and winter clothing. Stuff accumulates, often it is the stuff I don't want to deal with that gets banished to storage to address "another day".
Moving causes the dust to fly, the cobwebs to be swept away, and an opportunity to revisit that t-shirt from 9th grade's purpose in your life, as well as comb through the memory boxes of keepsakes and pictures.
I love the beautiful moments and memories I come across when packing and unpacking. I love purging the clothing I haven't worn in ages, giving myself permission to part with that note from grade 8, or make a few of my precious childhood photos electronic.
I find so many cherished moments, now memories, in the depths of boxes of odds and ends. Now the question becomes how can I bring that memory out of storage, and harness it as positive energy in my everyday life?
So far I have framed a couple, and plan to find a home for as many of them as possible outside the attic, where I can access them when I need a positive boost.
What beautiful memories do you have hiding away in the bottom of a box of odds and ends? How can you access and leverage them in daily life?
