Here is one way to help re-motivate and re-focus if you, like me, are experiencing the February blahs:
GRAB YOUR JOURNAL!
1. Start with what you love and makes you happy. I start with a fresh page in my journal and brainstorm all the things that make me happy. passionate and full of joy (working out, eating right, intellectual stimulation, time with my family, an organized space to live and work in, etc.)
2. Then, I turn the page and brainstorm the roadblocks that are currently in my way (What roadblocks exists that are making my wheels spin?) Often the first one on the list is ME!
3. I turn the page once more and grab my favourite colour marker and start to look at what I can do to re-integrate the things I love and overcome the roadblocks (often this includes setting time aside to organize space, reintroducing meal planning, switching up my exercise routine, and going out and buying a new book I am excited to read).
4. The last thing I do is schedule these action plan items into my week. I block off the time for the commitments I have made so I can ensure they happen. When I am spinning my wheels having a plan for my day (often very detailed) helps to get me moving again and keep momentum.
How do you combat the February blahs?
