I thought I would share a couple of the things I needed to do to shake up my space and time with you:
1. My space wasn't inspiring me any longer - I needed to shake it up with some flowers, candles and a new room layout. I also needed to find a retreat - for me a coffee shop near my office that I could go to when I felt that space would be most inspiring for me.
2. I needed to leave everything out so I could dive in where I left off. This took me accepting a permanent, but controlled, mess.
3. I needed a ritual, which begins with brewing a pot of tea before I sit down to write.
4. I needed a schedule. I broke my work down into chunks that I anticipated would take me 30 minutes to write. My goal when I sat down was to accomplish one chunk. I no longer have to think about where to start, as it is all planned out for me.
