This past week we bought the Toronto City Pass for our vacation. It gave us admission to the ROM, Zoo or Science Centre, CN Tower, Ripleys Aquarium and Casa Loma. With purchasing the pass I felt freedom to go and check out each spot for the amount of time that made sense for our family, rather than (when paying full price admission) feeling like I had to make a day of it and push on.
We visited the dinosaur exhibit at the ROM and met "Wendi" the new Canadian dinosaur. We went to the Zoo and spent a couple hours before my toddler couldn't walk any longer. We went to Wonderland and enjoy Kidsville and SplashWorks.
It was a great week of adventuring in our own backyard. The best part was my daughter sharing with me that she didn't know there were so many cool places so close to home!
Next time, the one thing I would do different is institute a chore day on the first day of vacation to get all the to-do's out of the way, as I found myself wanting to putter away at this and that throughout the week. That took my focus away from the real purpose of the stay-cation.
Have you enjoyed a family stay-cation? What is your favourite local attractions?
