Just before my wedding, a friend of the family approached me, and like many, shared a beautiful nugget of wedding wisdom. She said, "MAKE the memories on your big day, LIVE them, take a photograph of those special moments in your mind (truly stop and drink them in), or else the whole thing will whizz by and upon reflection you will not truly remember the moments."
What a beautiful and meaningful piece of lifelong advice. I have tried to live that advice in every moment of my life since. Trying to really make and live the moments, really stopping and taking a mental snapshot along the way to cherish forever.
As Mamma's we often get hung up on the moments we missed. The "firsts" someone else saw, the big goals that we turned our head during, or the classroom moments teachers tell us about. Why not try to truly pour ourselves into MAKING and LIVING the moments and memories when we have the time with our child(ren). Often, we can let these moments whizz by and upon reflection the mental photos have a bit of a blur to them.
Let's take some crystal clear photos this week.
What beautiful mental photograph will you take today, Mamma?
