The segment included interviews of passersby. During the interview series I couldn't help but notice the surprised reaction on each person's face as they were told a cup of tea elicits happiness in the majority of the respondents. Quickly, it seemed each person's expression changed from surprise to affirmation as the message sunk in.
We often look for happiness in the big, glamorous moments, the new encounters, or the things that happen outside our front door. This news story is a good reminder to also look in the everyday moments, like a cup of tea.
When I embarked on the #100happydays challenge, I did it to see the beautiful moments and happy things I was walking past.
This week, I am going to refocus my #100happydays challenge and look for the things that bring me happiness in my everyday routine, like a cup of tea.
Happiness today? A cup of coffee in my 'World's Best Mom' mug. The mug brings me happiness whether I am drinking out of it, washing it, or putting it away in the cupboard.
