I was lined up at my local coffee shop drive thru. I was overtired from a night of midnight feeds and monsters in my daughter's room. I wasn't feeling my brightest, and quite honestly didn't want to wait in the long line (however my coffee pot is broken at home and I admit that my cup of morning coffee is such an important part of my routine).
I was stewing as I waited in the never ending line about the driving I had just encountered on my way. I was cut off twice and felt frustrated. I was feeling like I remembered a time when people were courteous to one another on and off the roads.
I was turning right into the drive thru and let a woman making a left into the drive thru "in". As I pulled up to pick up my order the lovely, cheerful lady at the drive thru told me my order had already been paid for. The woman in front of me wanted to thank me for letting her in.
My entire day since has been a complete reframe, it reminded me of the truly good in people. It made me refocus using gratitude and thanks. I was taken aback by the woman's kind gesture of thanks.
This long weekend I plan to look for the good in every moment and spread gratitude everywhere! Want to join me?
