If you asked me a few years ago I would tell you RUNNING! and not the exercise variety. I would push that snooze button until the last second, roll out of bed and speed myself through the 'must-do's' to get out the door and ready for work.
Over the past few years I have been working at creating morning rituals to start my day on the right foot. I admit that it hasn't been easy to break my old snooze button habit, but having a morning ritual helps me position myself to take on the day, whatever may come.
I try to start my day with my top priority, connecting with my family - a coffee and chat with my husband and a story and snuggle with my children. When I start my day this way I find my emotional 'gas tank' is ready to take on what the day throws at it. When I miss out on this morning ritual I feel slightly off balance throughout the day and find controlling my emotional reactions to moments more challenging.
My morning ritual makes me a happier and more connected person throughout the day.
How do you start your day? How does that impact how you show up for the remainder of the day?
