I thought about how we truly are all hat collectors. We all have certain hats that we keep out on display and many in our closet that, with a little organization and digging, we can find. We rotate them, depending on the year, month or day. We value some more than others. We reserve that special one for a plexiglass container, while others we wear out on repeated runs.
When I started assessing my own hats, I began to realize that I rotate one in and another out, wear them out, and sometimes throw them out. Interestingly, the ones I throw out often have the best stories.
I have decided that I need to organize my hats in a more meaningful way, draw on more of them in my daily life, and be intentional about when I take each of them out. Some of those dusty ones want (and need) to be worn. I am striving to 'run' in every single one. What good are they on the shelf?
What hats do you currently have on display? Which ones are out of sight, but accessible? Which ones need a little digging and dusting to find? How could you organize them to make each of them more accessible?
