In this talk Kelly talks about a sleep technique 5/5/5 to help you fall asleep, however suggests the technique has a secondary use - aiding you in being present in a moment.
Since watching I find myself using this 5/5/5 technique regularly to focus myself on the moment I am in. How do you do it?
1. Think of five things you can see.
2 Think of five things you can hear.
3. Think of five things you can feel.
I find after doing 5/5/5 I am completely present and noticing things about the space and moment that I didn't before, however if you are not Kelly suggests moving on to 4/4/4, then 3/3/3, 2/2/2, and then 1/1/1 as needed.
